COMMON CODE FOR THE COFFEE COMMUNITY (4C) (2002

Representatives of industry and trade, coffee producers and civil society in both grower and consumer countries have agreed on a code of conduct to promote sustainability in the coffee sector, called the Common Code for the Coffee Community (4C). The goal of this initiative is to improve social, economic and ecological aspects of coffee production and trade.

  The initiative is a strategic alliance and has received considerable support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development [Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Entwicklung und Zusammenarbeit, BMZ].
