International conventions

International conventions are treaties under international law between several nations. Many of them define social standards and thereby provide an indirect framework for corporate action. Among them are the agreements reached under the auspices of the United Nations, and in particular those that address areas of relevance to CSR: human rights, core labor standards, global environmental protection and sustainable development.
