The 5th international Conference conference SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND CURRENT CHALLENGES 2010 »the nature and humans«

11.03.2010

The main current challenges include issues of how to take care of our natural environment in the current times of a long-term and all-encompassing crisis. Human life depends on nature. At the same time the biggest economic problems and costs tend to be exposed together with the topic of nature conservation. On the other hand the health and well-being of all citizens of a single location, nation or the planet are tackled.

After the growth rate used to be three percent per millennium until 1829, in pre-industrial times, it grew to 5.500 (55 times) over the recent close to two centuries. After 1820, on average, every citizen is 17 times more reach, there are six time more humans who consume beyond 30 times more energy and emit every hour 4 millions tons of CO2 in the atmosphere, cut down 1.500 hectares of woods, and put in our soil 1.7 million tons of nitrates. In only six decades after the Second World War there are 2.5 time more humans, using seven times more natural resources. Though, the Planet Earth is no bigger, but increasingly depleted.

We humans have endangered our-selves: we cannot live without a healthy nature. We always impact the nature, mostly damaging it: the nature can live without humans, but humans cannot live without nature and its resources.
