China, Germany and Europe: Joint Solutions for CSR in the Global Value Chains

Exchange of experience and knowledge among Chinese, German and European business representatives and experts on corporate social responsibility in global value chains.

09.11.2009

25th and 26th November 2009, Brussels, Diamant Conference Centre

German and European enterprises are assuming responsibility for compliance to social and environmental standards – also in business locations in developing and newly industrializing economies. China is an increasingly important factor in the global economy. Chinese, German and other European businesses are therefore looking into joint solutions for CSR. In pursuit of a ‘harmonious society’, corporate social responsibility is a topical issue for Chinese business and society. CSR is broadly discussed in China, moreover regarding the cooperation with European business partners in global value chains.

This meeting brings together experts from China, Germany and other European countries and provides a platform for exchange of experiences on joint projects. It also offers opportunities to discuss the latest developments and trends on CSR in the global economy. Speakers include German and Chinese business representatives, and also representatives of relevant Chinese institutions, such as the WTO Tribune.

This meeting will take place in conjunction and cooperation with the Members Assembly of the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI).

Attendance to the meeting is limited. Please save the date in your calendar.
